Spotatui is a community Rust terminal music player with a desktop preview—not Spotify's official AI DJ or a new AI provider. Current release: v0.45.0. Spotify playback requires Premium; optional AI does not come with unlimited usage.

What the rate-limit claim means
Uses internal Spotify client APIs over librespot, not the public Web API; no unlimited-access guarantee, endorsement or permanent compatibility claim. Spotify's public Web API counts requests in a rolling 30-second window and returns HTTP 429 when app limits are exceeded. Spotatui changes its connection path; it does not grant an unlimited Spotify service entitlement.
Use manual playback first. AI DJ can use a coding-agent CLI, direct Anthropic API, OpenAI-compatible endpoint or local model. An interactive turn can take up to four model steps, and auto-queue can keep consuming quota or tokens. Review provider billing and supported tool calls before enabling it.

Labs availability and replay blocker
No benchmarkable Spotatui model route or authorized listening-history/playback replay with pinned backend, token/quota/compute ledger and accepted-recommendation grader; text leaderboard cannot score music playback. Public software availability is not blocked; a defensible music-agent evaluation is. We did not perform authenticated playback, a load test, or an AI recommendation-quality benchmark.

Is Spotatui free?
The music client is MIT-licensed with no software charge. Spotify playback requires Premium; optional AI uses your separately configured coding plan, API billing or local compute.
Does Spotatui remove every Spotify rate limit?
No. It uses internal Spotify client APIs rather than the public Web API. This does not guarantee unlimited requests, permanent compatibility or Spotify endorsement.
Does the desktop app support free non-Spotify sources?
The current desktop preview supports Spotify only. The terminal player supports local files, radio and other sources; some sources require their own subscriptions or setup.
Why is there no Spotatui model row in the pricing API?
Spotatui is a music client and optional AI harness, not a hosted inference endpoint. Its structured tool-pricing record stays separate from billable model rows.
