Mozilla Solo Shutdown: Export Deadline & Refunds (2026)

Solo closes November 30, 2026. Learn how to export your site and images, move a Solo domain, and understand automatic Pro or Grow refunds.

By AI Pricing Guru Editorial Team

AI Pricing Guru articles are maintained by the editorial workflow behind the site: daily pricing snapshots, provider source checks, and review passes for model launches, subscription limits, and billing changes.

TL;DR

  • Solo's AI website creator closes November 30, 2026; all Solo websites and data will be deleted after that date.
  • Export your website now, then separately download every image from the links in the export CSV.
  • Active Solo Pro and Grow subscribers get an automatic prorated refund for unused time calculated from October 1; subscriptions will not renew.
  • Move hosting and, if applicable, your Solo Domains registration before the deadline.

Mozilla’s Solo AI website creator is shutting down. Solo’s official notice says the service will cease operations on November 30, 2026, and registrations are already closed. Its shutdown FAQ says all websites and data will be deleted on that date with no recovery afterward. Existing site owners should export immediately, not wait until the final week.

Pricing impact: Solo has not announced a replacement rate or a price increase. For active Pro and Grow customers, the immediate billing change is a refund, not another charge. The FAQ does not give a universal refund amount: it depends on the unused portion of each current billing period. Check the original payment method for the credit; contact Solo support if it does not arrive. Budget separately for replacement hosting, a domain renewal, and any migration work rather than assuming the Solo refund covers them.

Export your site before November 30

  1. Sign in at Solo’s designer. Open the top-right menu, choose Account Settings, then Download Website Data.
  2. Save the ZIP in at least two places. It contains an HTML export and a CSV with links to image assets plus contact-form and newsletter submissions.
  3. Download the image files separately. The ZIP does not include image source files; its CSV points to them. Those links may no longer work after deletion.
  4. Rebuild or import the site at the new host, then test each page, image, form, newsletter integration, mobile layout, and custom-domain connection before switching traffic.

An HTML export is a backup of published pages, not a promise of one-click editing in another builder. Keep copies of the CSV and your downloaded images even after the replacement site is live. Handle exported form and newsletter submissions as customer data, with appropriate access controls.

Moving a domain and choosing a replacement

For a domain bought through Solo Domains, not IONOS, the FAQ directs owners to create or log into a Name.com account, complete Registrant, Administrative, and Technical account contacts, and email the account code shown in the Name.com dashboard to support@soloist.ai. Solo says it will transfer the account and email confirmation. Add billing details at Name.com so a later renewal does not fail. The FAQ does not provide an IONOS transfer procedure; ask the relevant registrar if that is your case.

Solo names Wix, Squarespace, and WordPress.com as hosting options, and Bolt and Lovable as AI-builder options. These are suggestions, not verified drop-in imports or price matches. Compare the actual plan needed for your custom domain, forms, storage, traffic, and support in our AI app-builder pricing comparison; test the exported HTML and images before committing. If you are rebuilding an AI-assisted workflow as well as the site, compare model costs on our OpenAI pricing and Anthropic pricing pages, estimate usage with the token calculator, and use our startup AI budget guide to separate inference spend from hosting fees. API-token prices do not represent website-hosting prices.

Bottom line

The deadline is November 30, 2026, but the safest migration date is now. Export the ZIP, fetch every image separately, preserve submissions, move any Solo Domains registration, and verify the replacement site before changing DNS. Pro and Grow refunds are automatic and calculated from October 1; no new Solo subscription will renew.
