What you get for each bill
Beacon by Asymptote Labs captures sessions across Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other harnesses, then makes useful patterns reusable through skills or MCP. The project documents human review for distilled knowledge. Support varies by harness; a supported name does not guarantee every event or feature is captured.
Existing coding subscriptions, model API bills, local compute and external storage remain separate. No model entitlement or token discount is established. Cross-harness reuse may reduce repeated explanation; no measured token savings or quality improvement claimed. The free Cloud allowance is a findings count, not an API token budget; the official plan documentation defines it as a lifetime allowance.

Local operation versus hosted forwarding
Current interactive setup preselects Beacon Cloud. Signing in alone forwards nothing; confirming Cloud enables forwarding. Select Local for on-device operation. Session traces can include prompts, command activity and file edits. Review capture and destination settings before using it with private projects. Local memory tools and Cloud MCP are distinct routes.
Availability and Labs evaluation
Public source and documentation verified; no account signup, checkout, endpoint installation or integration test performed. Beacon is a memory/telemetry layer, not a callable inference model. No authorized isolated cross-harness replay corpus, pinned versions, consented traces, quality grader and token/compute ledger are available. A text leaderboard score would misrepresent memory quality. No installation, private trace collection, purchase or paid benchmark was performed.

Common questions
Is Beacon free?
The MIT-licensed local software and the entry Cloud plan have no published software fee. Pro is paid and Enterprise is quoted separately; coding-agent and model usage remain separate.
Is annual Pro pricing the same as monthly billing?
No. The annual monthly equivalent requires annual billing. The comparison table shows both the monthly price and the calculated annual total.
Does Beacon make Claude Code, Codex or Cursor unlimited?
No. Shared memory does not replace their subscriptions, API bills, model access rules or usage limits.
Does local-first mean setup never forwards traces?
No. The current interactive setup preselects Cloud; confirming it enables forwarding. Select Local to keep operation on the device.
Official sources and maintenance
Prices, plan features and billing conditions are bound to reviewed source evidence and checked by the existing daily pipeline. Source changes, failures or edited claims prevent verification renewal and trigger owned remediation. This tool has no fabricated inference model row.
